Description
Meet at our easy-to-locate departure location at the Coconut Marketplace in Kapaa for the most popular kayak tour on Kauai! Journey up the Wailua River for an adventurous paddle, hike & swim adventure!
The Wailua River became the center of activity for early Hawaiians and is known as one of Hawaii's two most sacred places. At night, it is said that one can still hear ancient drums thunder in concert with the nearby surf.
We have the best equipment including tandem kayaks with rudders. We have the best guides who are trained in water safety & paddling instruction. All kayak gear included!
The trail leading to our secret waterfall is a beautiful "greenhouse," where flowers, brooks & ferns abound. The early Polynesian culture is represented here, steeped in a colorful past, rich with rock-wall terracing, legends & lore.
The setting for this jaunt is tranquil and tropical, the pace is unhurried. Birdwatch for a night heron or coot. Swim in the pools or stream leading from the falls before returning to Kapaa.
This tour is very relaxing and safe. Participants should be comfortable in the water and enjoy hiking. This is a perfect adventure for all ages.

This trip was awesome and our guide was great. It was absolutely beautiful in all aspects. The only piece of advice I would give someone else is when you call to confirm your trip, insist that they get your name on their list. There was a break down between the website and the company and they did not know we were going to show up. This was not a big deal, except they did not have a lunch for us. The guide gave us his lunch, which my wife and I shared, and they reimbursed me for the other. It was totally handled well and I think is a breakdown in this website and not on the part of the guide company. To prevent this I would spend more time up front on the phone making sure I was on their list even if I had my confirmation.

We had a great time. It was just the two of us and our guide who was great. The kayak was strenuous but a great bonding experience. Wailua Falls was a truly beautiful sight. I would recommend this experience highly.

The kayaking and hiking were great, the setting absolutely beautiful. Our guide was knowledgeable about the local plants, which made it more interesting and educational. I would, however, not pick this particular kayaking company again. Their offices looked like an abandoned warehouse and no one was there at our appointed time. We wondered if we had the right place (luckily other people were waiting too). Also, it took a long time to get the kayaks ready for the water. Even worse, when we got back, it took forever to load the kayaks in some ancient trailer. We all helped so it wouldn't take an hour (definitely not good for the back). In contrast, we noticed other kayak companies drive up, two burly guys unloaded the kayaks, and everyone was off. Upon the return, the burly guys reloaded the kayaks in 5 minutes, and everyone was off in a nice new air-conditioned van. We watched all this in disbelief as we were killing ourselves to get the kayaks loaded onto a trailer that looked like it was going to fall apart.
I'd definitely recommend the trip, just pick the right kayaking company.

We had a wonderful time on this tour. Our tour guide and his pup were great guides - very personable, informative and fun! Plus, we got the cutest picture of the pup kayaking home! Oh, and the food was surprisingly good. I'd definitely recommend this trip.
